Kathy Bee
Singer/Songwriter/Talk Show Host/Musical Playwright
Some years ago I was given the title "THE AMBASSADOR OF AMERICAN MUSIC!" I have performed for audiences both large and small across the U.S. singing a variety of musical styles. My performances are inspired by the audiences. In turn my hopes are that I can remind them to have a positive outlook, to always keep hope alive, and to never give up, because God is always there!
My latest CD includes the song Red Hat Mamma! I was inspired by the Red Hatters on a cruise in 2005. I wrote the song and recorded my own demo version of it in my home studio. It was so well received by the Red Hatters...even the Queen Mother /Red Hat Society Founder, Sue Ellen Cooper, expressed her approval when I had the opportunity to perform at a holiday party in Fullerton, CA. that I recorder the song in For The Record studio with great musicians Kenny Williams and Brian Leicher and E mastering.
I wanted to share this song with all the Red Hatters…so I began singing at events and parties. Later I met Josie Silva (a spectacular hat maker) whose group Victorian Red Hatter of Laverne, CA. became my models for my “Tribute To Broadway Show” that I began performing at various Red Hat events and at concerts and festivals.
While waiting to perform…I used my time wisely and began writing new, wacky “Red Hatter” lyrics from old melodies. I also jotted down ideas for new specialty games for my fellow Red Hat Sisters. Now I’m able to I share these games and lyrics with you… You also have an opportunity for your group to be in my
Red Hat Mamma Music Video!

RHM PARTY IDEAS
In order to have a successful event, it’s up to you, the host, to make sure
that the decorations, food, prizes, background music, entertainment and
games all match the occasion. Taking the time to pre-plan your event…will
result in a great event.
Helpful Tips:
Every Party Needs A Planner
In order to have a successful party your best bet is to designate one
person as the Ultimate Party Planner…the Party Chair.
This person can delegate who will be responsible for carrying on
various activities such as:
1. The invitation committee (also responsible for posters & party
announcements).
2. Ticket sales committee.
3. A committee or a person to plan the food menu.
4. A committee or a person to plan the games & activities.
5. The entertainment committee (finds the headline entertainment).
6. The gift (prize) gathering committee.
7. The program committee.
8. The decorating committee.
9. The overall Master of Ceremony (MC).
10. A person to conduct the games and the activities.
11. The welcoming committee / greeters.
12. The clean-up committee.
Theme parties are always the “most fun”! Get your group together and
brain storm. Make a list from 1- 10 and ask the members of your group to
4
give you ideas about the “best” theme parties that they had ever
attended. Don’t be shy about suggestions…and don’t make fun of any new
ideas. You never know which idea will stick.
LIST THE BEST THEMES BELOW
1.____________________________________________________
2.____________________________________________________
3.____________________________________________________
4.____________________________________________________
5.____________________________________________________
6.____________________________________________________
7.____________________________________________________
8.____________________________________________________
9.____________________________________________________
10.___________________________________________________
Then vote for the best theme.
If there is a tie, place the (tied) suggestions in a hat and draw-out the
winning party theme. This way chance plays a part in the selection
process.
Make sure that everyone in your group gets to participate in some fashion.
This will strengthen group unity and promote closer friendships.
5
Your attitude plays a big part when it comes to having a successful party.
If you’re stressed…feeling sad…upset…moody…or you are physically ill…this
will affect the success or failure of the event.
As an entertainer, I put on my “show time” face and think the most
positive thoughts, so that my performance will encourage others to be in a
good festive mood. You need to do the same. You are performing when
you interact with others…especially when you host an event.
Helpful Tips:
Fun Loving People Are Fun To Be With
Successful parties depend on the attitudes of the host and their
committee members.
If you are grumpy, disorganized, mean-spirited, self-centered,
pushy, rude, or show that you don’t care about your party
guests…your party will be a disaster…no matter how nicely
decorated or great the food might be.
Put on your “the show must go on” face…
Everyone should have
1. A positive attitude
2. Helpful spirit
3. Make up your mind that you are going to have fun
4. Treat everyone like an honored guest
5. Smile…smile…smile

1. Guess What’s Missing?
In a large multiple table setting:
Have a designated person from each table, leave the room (could be the
Queen Mother).
Set-up chairs (preferable on the stage or dance floor) to accommodate the
people who left the room.
Remove one item from each person’s table. (Suggested items are the center
piece, a napkin, a place setting, but don’t make it too obvious)
One person at a time is led back into the room.
This person is instructed to walk over to her table and then asked “What
item is missing from your table?” (no hints)
If she guesses right she takes a seat on the stage and is awarded a special
prize.
If she guesses wrong… she takes a seat on the stage and is awarded a
special dunce hat (that’s easily constructed from white card stock paper) or
great big glasses…or any kind of booby prize.
Gets a lot of laughs!

2. The Quest For The Perfect Person?
Read this list to your party goers. If any of these statements pertain to
any party guest, the person must stand and remain standing.
The person or persons, who are not standing are the winners, designated
The Perfect Person. (If there is more than one winner…draw for a prize).
1. Called your significant other (by mistake) by the wrong name?
2. Lost a member of the family in the shopping mall?
3. Locked the keys in your car?
4. Turned white colors pink (or another color) in the wash?
5. Let your bath water over flow?
6. Forgotten to wear deodorant… all day?
7. Had your zipper break in public?
8. Gone somewhere with two different socks on?
9. Fallen up the stairs?
10. Forgotten your home phone number?
11. Got into the car to go somewhere and forgot where you were
going?
12. Put something in the oven to bake and forgot about it?
13. Forgot to pick up your kids after school?
14. Ran out of gas?
15. Lied about your age?
8
3. Guess The Recipe Draw
Get 5 separate recipes that are on cards (or copy them on file cards). Cover
the name of the recipe or leave it off the card. Place the cards in a bag and
have people draw recipes from the bag. Have them guess the name of the
dish from reading the recipe only. (If you have time you can bake or cook
the dishes from the recipes and have the people guess, “what’s in the dish”
by tasting the prepared food.)
4. Barnyard Babble?
1. Write down the names of various barnyard animals on a paper. (pig, cow,
sheep, duck, geese, horse, cat, dog, turkey, bird)
2. Place them in a jar or a bag.
3. Have each Queen Mother or a designated person at each table draw a
paper representing a barnyard animal.
4. Have each person audition for the best chosen animal sound…to
represent their table.
5. Bring all the table representatives to the front and have them compete
with each other for best animal sound.
6. The audience can be the judge by applause only. (Ask the audience to
clap only for the best person who sounded most like the animal they
portrayed. Then hold your hand above the contestant’s head.)
Lots of giggles during this game!
9
5. Guess What’s Hiding
Number 5 Styrofoam cups (1-5). Underneath each cup place a small item.
Have your guests as individuals or by tables write down what they think is
under each cup. (You can give them a hint by saying “Red Hatter’s Items” or
common household items or things found in an office…etc.
The person or group that gets the most items correct and in order (under
cup #1 is a pin) wins the big prize.

I’m sure you’ve heard that music is the universal language…and it really gets
everyone into the mood when you’re having a party.
Helpful Tips:
The Secret To Successful Sing-a-longs
Find someone in your group who can carry a tune. This really helps to
keep the crowd going and to keep the song enjoyable. They don’t have
to be the best singer in the world but should be able to lead the crowd.
Keep the mood light and easy.
Choose songs that are easy for everyone to sing-a-long with.
Don’t assume that people know the lyrics. Provide lyric sheets.
Red Hatters Go Marching
This game combines music and action. 10 volunteers are needed to
complete this active musical skit that livens up the party.
To the tune of the song “The Ants Go Marching” the new lyrics (listed
below) are to be sung by the entire audience or the designated 10
volunteers.
Pre selected costumes can go along with the lyrics or the action in the
song can be mimed.
11
As the song is sung…group members join-in at their designated time.
(If you are Red Hatter 1 by 1 than you are 1 st and your costume or
mime is to represent having fun and so on with 2 by 2 show off her
shoes etc.) While singing they march around the room.
Read through the lyrics below…You’ll catch on!
All who participate should receive a prize!

I’M A RED HATTER
(To the tune of “Row Row Row Your Boat”)
This is a great song to break the ice and get the guests involved in
your event. Divide the room into two sections. Get two volunteers
up to help you lead the sing-a-long. Sing the song with everyone so
that people become familiar with the song. Divide the song up into
rounds with
group #1 starting…singing the words
“I’M A RED HATTER SING ALONG WITH ME”
Then group #2 begins singing
“I’M A RED HATTER SING ALONG WITH ME”
Sing the song 3 times…Great Fun!
